Volunteer Opportunities

There are many behind-the-scenes support positions needed BEFORE the event plus at the event. These opportunities run between mid-March and May. Below is a description of several volunteer positions. Most need 2-4 hours of support, on your schedule. If your troop has a great volunteer available, have them click here to access our SignUpGenius list.

  • Bronze Certificate Preparation
    Use provided template in Power Point to place Girl Scout name and troop number. Print out certificates and return to Event Coordinator. Great for someone with access to a color printer. Estimated 50 certificates.
  • Letter Writing – Girl Scout Silver Awards
    Contacting Middle School Principals from pre-established template to acquire letters or certificates for Girl Scout Silver Award recipient portfolios. Follow-up via email and phone for those offices who haven’t responded.
    Arrange to acquire certificates who prefer to have them picked up.
  • Girl Scout Silver Award Portfolio Assembly
    Insert Girl Scout Silver Award Certificate and School letter/certificate. Arrange folders by troop/first name.
  • Door Greeter & Seater Coordinator
    Recruit Cadette Girl Scouts to serve as door greeters and seaters. Train team on seating chart and program distribution. (timeframe: Early May for recruitment & day of event)
  • Flag Patrol
    Recruit 5 Girl Scouts (4 flag bearers and one caller). Arrange practice(s), execute the opening flag ceremony, escort Girl Scout Gold Award recipients. (timeline: Early May recruitment & day of event)
